Behind The Scenes with Kathy Fray

Take a Look Behind the Curtain
with Kathy Fray, Author of OH GROW UP … Toddlers to PreTeens Decoded

About Kathy Fray:

Q. What are your previous occupations?
A. B.C. [Before
Children]: Travel Industry for two decades, from retail suburban Travel Agency
Manager, to award wining Airline Sales Rep, to chief liaison for Air New
Zealand’s largest client, to managing director of a niche Travel Wholesaler.
A.D. [After Delivery]: Full-time mother, best-selling parenting author,
creator of BabyOK Products, independent Midwife, founder of SOMCANZ Integrative
Maternity HealthCare conferences.

Q. What was your favorite job?
A. Airline Sales Rep was pretty cruisey, have to say!!

Q. What
Highschool and/or College did you attend?
A. Carmel College High School &
AUT University

Q. Who is your favorite author?
A. Hard to
nominate one, but Neale Donald Walsch’s CONVERSATIONS WITH GOD were the only
library books I ever intentionally never returned as I’d covered the pages in
pencilled notes – really happy to pay the library fine to keep the books

Q. Who is your favorite recording artist or song?
A. Oh – SOOO
many – LUV music – so many songs are aspects of who I am and what I stand for,
of many different genres. If I had to nominate one song, I’ll choose the ring
tone on my phone when hubby calls: Muse’s UPRISING !

Q. What is your
favorite Movie or TV Show?
A. MATRIX is up there – awesome in 1999

Sneak Peak Behind The Scenes

Q. What’s your guilty pleasure?
A. Great red wine with
great friends – good for the soul!

Q. Who is your greatest role
model?
A. Gosh, so many. But certainly up there: Lhamo Dondrub (his
Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama)

Q. How do you define success?
A.
I would define 'success' as finding the middle-way between Contentment
(wanting what you have, instead of having what you want) and Desire (knowing
that contained inside every desire is the mechanics for its fulfillment).

Q. What is the secret to your success?
A. Finding the middle-path
between working bloody hard to make it happen, and trusting the Universe will
work out the details.

Q. If you could live anywhere in the world,
where would it be?
A. Where I do live right now, on the gorgeous Hibiscus
Coast in Auckland, New Zealand … though a very private house on the beach
coastline with stunning water views is up there on the love-to-own list.

Q. What’s your kryptonite?
A. Stunningly bad service can push my
buttons.

Q. What historical figure do you most relate to?
A.
No one person – but female pioneers in general

Q. What is your
biggest regret?
A. Not investing in professional mentorship more
frequently – a little too much “going it alone” making novice mistakes

Q. What do you consider to be your greatest accomplishment?
A. Producing
three awesome teenagers who are kind motivated kids with great moral compasses
and grounded personalities.

Q. What is your best advise to people
whom look up to you and your success?
A. Don't. Don't look up to
me. I'm just one beggar telling another beggar where the bread is. Or maybe
look up to the reality I've worked blemin' hard to get to this point,
if that motivates you. If not, that's okay too. We each are on individual
journeys.
